Volunteer

We have several opportunities for serving alongside our youth and staff:

  • Host an outing or activity with your church, social group, or employer. A few examples include:  going bowling, miniature golfing, or to a Dayton Dragons  game, attending a musical or play, or having a pizza party.
  • Prepare food for one of our holiday parties or serve at the party by helping with games and other activities.
  • Building Bridges runs a variety of events that are designed to give our kids an opportunity to succeed at something challenging.  Helping as an event supporter at a 5K run/walk, biathlon, canoe trip, softball game or baseball clinic is the perfect way to learn more about Building Bridges and experience hands-on what we do.
  • Tutoring is an excellent way to help. We need people that are able to commit two hours a week to work one-on-one with a child, helping with homework and remedial lessons. All tutoring sites are supervised by staff so that new volunteers can readily ask for help.  You do not need to be a professional teacher or counselor, you just need to have patience and compassion and express words of encouragement.

If you have questions or are interested in volunteering, please email Luigi Dodieu at ldodieu@mcjcohio.org
